Shadow Falls: Born at Midnight

This is the first book in a series of really good books that deal with people with supernatural powers. Kylie is the main person in the series. Kylie has problems with night terrors, a possible stalker, and parents that are getting a divorce.

This would be bad enough for her if it weren't for the fact that no one else seems to be able to see the military man who she thinks is stalking her. Her mother, instead of being supportive, sends her to a camp that is supposed to be one for delinquent teenagers.

It turns out it's much more than that as she meets young people who have various abilities such as vampires, weres, fairies and others. They each have specific abilities according to their group. The problem for Kylie is that she has no idea what she actually is as far as supernaturals go because she starts to display abilities that more than one type of supernatural has.

She faces yet another problem in that there are two boys who are interested in her, one a vampire and one a were and the two groups they belong to don't get along at well. As if that wasn't enough going on there's a group called the FRU which is basically an F.B.I. for those with supernatural abilities and they want to question and test her.

Finally, to top off the multitude of strange things going on for her she ends up communicating with a ghost who has a specific warning.

The entire series is excellent and this first book gives a really good overview of what is going on in her life, what the supernaturals are like and her confusion in where she fits in.
