The Becoming

This book centers on Tianna. Tianna had gone to a fortune teller who got upset with what she saw and destroyed her crystal ball. She's attacked, either by her own powers or by a Follower of some kind.

She gets hurt in a skateboard competition, and spots two Followers who were involved in the murder of her parents and her younger sister. They are supposedly apologizing for the killings, but then they want her help with the Atrox. They also tell her she's the “becoming,” and she has no idea what that means.

Mary, the woman she is staying with, turns out to be totally evil. Tianna finds out she has an incredible potential for evil, and only one chance to change her fate.

An interesting book in this series, with a bittersweet ending.
