Premonitions

This is the story of Gracie, a girl who has psychic abilities which she's not comfortable with and she doesn't really know how to use them fully. Her best friend Emily disappears, and Gracie begins to get images of what might have happened to her.

Gracie goes on a search for Emily, enlisting others to help but, in the end, she gets trapped with Emily and others on an island controlled by a psychotic young man. She has to figure out some way that they can all escape, even though some don't really want to, figuring the controlled environment they are in is better than whatever else they came from. Yet Emily knows, again due to her visions, that a terrible disaster awaits all of them if they don't escape soon.

This is a very good novel, the theme of psychic abilities a not uncommon one but still done rather well. It's also a sort of unexpected place that everyone ends up in, and the story shows Gracie's internal strength in dealing with the danger she and the others are in.
