Stop Pretending: What happened when my big sister went crazy

This is a book by Sonya Sones and is written in her free-prose type style.

The major characters include two sisters, one 12, at the start of the story, 13 by its end, and the other 19, along with their mother and father. The older sister one day, for some unspecified reason, goes crazy.

The younger sister has to deal with the consequences of this, including visiting her sister in the psycho ward of the hospital, and two parents who are almost constantly fighting. Her own needs for comfort and attention are overlooked entirely, and she begins to run into trouble at school when other students find out what has happened to her sister.

It's a very, very good book, and the poetic style really works in this one.
