Sanctuary

Another in the 1-800-Where-R-You series. A new doctor, a black man named Dr. Tompkins, and his family are recent immigrants to the town but his son has gone missing. His son ends up dead. Jessica also has a new person from the FBI watching her and that's a guy named Cyrus.

A symbol had been burned onto the murdered kid. Another kid goes missing and a synagogue is torched. Jessica accidentally outs herself to Cyrus, having discovered where a missing twelve-year-old boy is.

Rob recognizes the symbol and it means that there's a right-wing extremist group in the area, virulently anti-Jewish and anti-Black. They are the ones behind the murder, kidnapping and torching. Jessica and Rob lead what amounts to a commando raid on the compound. The description of the battle is very well done.

The book shows just how far some of the rightist groups in today's world are willing to go in their pursuit of their hatred of non-white, non-Christian individuals. They will stop at nothing to pursue their goal of a 'pure' American society. This is something particularly important now with the grown of right-wing so-called news reporting on certain television channels, and in the increase in threats against people deemed by such 'minds' as not pure Americans.
