Seeker

This book in the series is written from Hunter's viewpoint. He's going to Canada to find his parents and Morgan can't go with him because of her school work.

Morgan wants to have sex with Hunter, but Hunter thinks it's not the best thing to do at that exact time.

Hunter finds his father living in a filthy shack. His mother is dead. His father is just a shadow of his former self.

His father has opened a hole to the world of the dead, and is allowing people in the area to talk to dead relatives. This would really piss off the Council. He's using it to contact his dead wife.

(The journal entries in this book, and some in the last one, are sort of annoying. The writing is hard to read, sometimes almost impossible, especially when they don't make the words very dark. )

Hunter is given a job by the Council to check on a witch named Justine. She is really evil, but tries not to appear that way. Hunter gets hold of her “true” name and is able to get power over her, to convince her to destroy some information she has been gathering that could be used to harm others.

Hunter plans to take his father back home with him.

It's an interesting tenth book in the series, especially in that all the previous ones had been from Morgan's viewpoint, and now this one is from Hunter's. It does add a new twist to the series. The next volume will take place back in the late 1600's, with all-new characters.
