As Simple As Snow

Anna: girl who had moved into town, was a blonde and a Goth. Wrote obituaries for the all the people in town, even though they were still alive. Then she disappeared. There were seven students in the school who were Goths.

The group of people Anna is part of is referred to as “...tattooed Satan-worshiping Goth Mormon, homosexual., S&M piercing necrophiliac drug-using vegetarians.” Which is a rather interesting combination of things, to say the least.

Anna disappears. It seems to have been a suicide, but her friend isn't sure and spends the rest of the novel trying to figure out if Anna is really alive or dead and, if she's alive, where she is.

Anna is an interesting character, but frankly she's about the only really interesting thing in the book. The novel just seems to drag on, sort of pointless, and has an unsatisfying open-ended conclusion.
