A Very Lizzie Summer

There are three basic themes in this book. For one, Gordo is making a film for a film class he's taking. He ends up becoming a trend-setter with his new haircut and clothes, and soon everyone is duplicating things he does like having orange yo-yos.

A second theme is Matt cutting hair. He's very talented, and loads of people want to get haircuts from him. Eventually he finds out just how much time that takes.

The third seem revolves around Lizzie and Miranda wanting to enter a radio contest. They plan to do their own song with their own lyrics, but Lizzie has to get a job over the summer to raise enough money that they can rent a music studio.

The book is very message-laden, especially in the Gordo theme and a sub-plot about Miranda dating. Probably one of the best Lizzie books, and maybe the only one where Matt acts in a fairly intelligent manner.
