Turned at Dusk

This is the ebook opening to the Shadow Falls series of books. In this story we find the main character, Lylie Galen, who is 16. Her boyfriend has recently broken up with her, her grandmother has recently died and her parents are getting a divorce. If that wasn't enough she seems to have a stalker that keeps appearing to her, a stalker which no one else can seem to see.

Then she decides to go to a party and even more bad things happen. She ends up a 'blame the victim' type of person as her mother thinks Kylie is a 'trouble' youth and needs to be sent to a special camp for the summer.

She gets a taste of what it's going to be like when she gets on the bus and finds a group of somewhat weird looking and acting students.

She stays on the bus and her adventure begins. I sometimes wonder, though, why girls in this situation (and it seems to be mostly girls) does not just get off the bus and tell her mother that she's not going to go to camp. Her mother can't actually have her physically abducted and taken there so what else could she do but maybe ground Kylie till she's 18? Of course then the story would end right there and we'd never have the excellent series of books that follow.
