Violet and Claire

This is a rather unusual novel about two girls. Violet is basically a goth-type girl whose goal in life is to be a filmaker, and her part of the novel, the first half, is even written with script-type indicators. Claire, who has the last half of the book, is a New Age-type of girl who is drawn to fairies and who writes poetry.

Violet gets to have her dream come partially true, but pays a price for it, while Claire thinks she finds the love of her life, only to learn that appearances can be deceiving.

It's sort of an interesting novel, but it's not fantastic. Both girls seem almost too much removed from reality and Violet seems a little young to have the types of movie-related things happen to her that do.

Overall an ok read, but not a necessity.
