What My Mother Doesn't Know

This is another very good book by Sonya Sones. She writes in sort of a free-prose type of poetry and her material is very much “alive.” You get a really good feel for the characters in her novels and they are just as real, if not more so, than more “traditionally” written books.

Anyhow, in this novel Sophie writes about her love and her various boyfriends and girl friends. There is a theme to the book dealing with a boy who is the object of scorn at school, but Sophie gets to find out what he is really like and learns not to judge by appearances only.

An enjoyable, fairly quick read.
