Yesterday's Gone, Season 1

This is written as if it were a television series divided into episodes. It's told from a variety of views of people going through the events and, as noted, it's Season 1. There are other seasons so don't expect this book to wrap everything up. In fact, it has a cliffhanger ending.

It's hard to figure out just what is happening, especially with what happens at the end. It seems that almost everyone has disappeared and/or been killed, their bodies dumped in rivers or put into stacks. There are some kind of strange creatures that are not actually zombies since they don't seem to be humans, although it's possible they were humans but became horribly modified.

Anyhow, killing the survivors seems to be their main purpose in existence. It's a really, really dark story and it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.
