CountryMouse's Diary

Part 14

Rainbow swirly bar

Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998: Today I hatched a new little Tam! He's a Gen.2 (second release) Japanese Tam, in a dark red case. His name is Cherry. For updates on his stats, see the My Tamagotchi page. Within his first hour of being on Earth, he danced around to the thudding beat of "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" (Classic Club Mix), sung by k.d. lang and Andy Bell, followed by other songs on the k.d. lang "lifted by love" maxi-single CD ("Miss Chatelaine" (St. Tropez Mix); "Just Keep Me Moving" (Movin' Mix); and "Lifted By Love" (Club Xanax Mix)). Then we moved on to Sinead O'Connor singing "I am stretched on your grave", "three babies", "nothing Compares 2 U", and "I do not want what I haven't got".

Pikachu is continuing his studying at school, but he has plenty of time to play also. The Pokemon animated series is going to start on Monday, here in the U.S.! Yay!

Friday, Sept. 11, 1998: I had hopes that Cherry would become something--*anything*--other than a mimitchi or a zukitchi (2d Gen. equivalent of the mametchi and masktchi). I *always* get one or the other, with Tams-in-egg! But I guess you have to *really* abandon Tams to their own devices to get something, uh, "not as good". ::sigh:: Cherry became a zukitchi. Well, I thought, I got a gaijintchi from a masktchi last time, so maybe I can get a sekitoritchi from this zukitchi! I am not really sure this is going to happen, though: a time or two his hearts ran out, and he had to beep at me for food. Then tonight he fell asleep with poop beside his little bed--I was asleep and didn't notice until he beeped for me to turn out the lights. Phoo.

Spyro T. DragonCherry has been watching me play HOURS of "Spyro the Dragon", a *very* cute PlayStation game. The soundtrack is by Stewart Copeland, who did the soundtrack for the TV series, "The Equalizer" some years back; and earlier on was more well known as the founder and drummer of the ultra-cool band, The Police. The three members have since gone on to their own solo careers, Sting having been in the spotlight more than Stewart and Andy Summers. It's really such a joy to be playing such a cute adventure game that has this wonderful, light, slightly-exotic, full-of-intricate-rhythms music (and noticing Stewart's as-always imaginative but sure touch, remembering again how I have always enjoyed his incredible musicianship) going while I am guiding this cute little dragon through absolutely gorgeous 3D landscapes, breaking adult dragons free from a crystal spell, gathering/reclaiming treasure, and fighting/flaming the bad guys. I *do* so hope that they put out a soundtrack for this game! I'd buy it in a minute!

Today was/is my birthday! Neat things I got: a rune necklace and another necklace (a sort ofTitanic India-looking necklace, with a sodalite pendant); the movie "Titanic" on videotape (!! I never got to see this in the movie theatre, so I am really happy to get this!); and a Gameboy game: "Kirby's DreamLand2" (I *love* Kirby games--I have 6 of them now!). Other neat things that happened today: the Nintendo 64 system we had ordered arrived today--yay! Plus a couple games: "Yoshi's Story" and "Diddy Kong Racing" (can you tell we like CUTE?!? ::grin::) And a Cocteau Twins CD I had ordered ("Live in London 1986") arrived today also!

Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998: Woohoo!! Cherry turned into a charitchi (the bicycle-riding character) today at 1:27pm edt! It is so cool to have a new character I have never had before! I had forgotten, when I wrote yesterday's entry, that I have a "second release" Japanese Tam2, so the secret character on that is not the sekitoritchi, but the charitchi!

Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998: Cherry died/left on Tuesday, the 22d. :-(  I wasn't paying attention to her needs. I think I left her in the bedroom while I was in the living room, playing "Diddy Kong Racing" for more than an hour. Eep! I suppose if I had been more attentive, I could've kept her for a few more years...but now she's with the Tamagotchi Angels, learning all about the fun things there in heaven. :-)  While she was here she got to see lots of episodes of the animated series, "Pokemon"; much videogame-playing ("Spyro the Dragon, "Diddy Kong Racing", "Need for Speed III", "Jet Moto2", etc.); random Japanese television programming, with no subtitles, on videotape (fun!); "Titanic" (the 3+ hour movie!); "Primary Colors" (starring John Travolta and Emma Thompson); and President Clinton's grand jury testimony (on Monday, the 21st).  What strange impressions she will take home with her to Planet Tamagotchi...Bye-bye, Cherry! I hope you enjoyed your time here! I was very happy to have you visiting!

This following is not the sort of thing I usually talk about in my VP etc. diary, but oh well! I am going to get political here, so if you don't wish to read that sort of thing here, just skip this part. I do *not* support the move to go forward with impeachment hearings. President Clinton is human and made a mistake. He did not do anything that is an impeachable offense, in my opinion. It is a matter between him and his family. We have seen  more than enough of this matter in all the media. It has been a feeding frenzy by the press and partisan politicians. We need to get *over* it and let the President and Congress get on with the *real* issues of running this country. I contacted my Congressmen; but since I got a reply back from one of them, totally misunderstanding me and thinking I support him on trying to remove the President from office, and also from the things I am seeing in the media, I am convinced that our elected officials are not *listening* to the very people they are supposed to be representing. I of course wrote back to my Representative, informing him of the mistaken notion he had of my support of his stance, and let him know I do *not* support impeachment proceedings. But I found a site that is a grassroots campaign, at U.S. Flagpresent a petition drive, collecting signatures and comments to give to the President and key members of Congress, favouring censuring the President, then *moving on*. Here is the site, in case you are as frustrated and upset about all this as I am: it's called Censure and Move On. If you find it echoes your sentiments, tell others you know that would be interested in signing. For the good of our country, we must get beyond this entire episode and quickly. [The MoveOn site is now dedicated to supporting candidates the members feel *listen* to their constituents and would act for the good of the country--CM, April 2000]
