CountryMouse's Diary

Part 15

Rainbow swirly bar

Tuesday, November 3, 1998: (Actually, I didn't write any entries for October at *all*) Eep! Where has the mouse been and what has she been up to?? Well, I am totallyI'm a Pokemon Trainer immersed in the world of Pokemon! I have been taping and watching every one of the episodes of the animated series that has been brought over here to the U.S. from Japan; and I and my family are all involved in playing the Pokemon GameBoy game. I've got ... 94? or 95 Pokemon in my Pokedex at present. Bunnicula has already defeated the Elite Four, so I traded/farmed out (temporarily) my 6 best Pokemon to him so that he can level them up more quickly for me, before I face the Elite Four, plus Gary. In return I am levelling up some people for him, with of course the boosted experience points that traded Pokemon get! Right now, it looks like I will take in with me: Charizard, Alakazam, Gyarados, Zapdos, Hypno, and Sandslash. I am waiting until Bunnicula gets them all up above Level 55 before facing the Elite Four. Oh, yes: I am playing the Blue version of the game.

OmniChordAnother thing I have been up to: I bought an OmniChord! Since I sold my ChromAharP on Sept. 11, 1997, I have sorta missed having an instrument I could accompany myself on. I am not any good at playing a keyboard *and* singing. So I remembered something *like* an autoharp that is easy and electronic and no strings to tune, etc., that I had heard of at least 10 years ago! I did a search on the Web and found a really great place to get one from! It's a place called Pop's Music. They've been selling them for *years* and have a good deal on prices, plus they *care* about your learning how to play and enjoy your OmniChord and are there for you if you have any questions. CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO SEE A DIFFERENT/LARGER PICTURE OF AN OMNICHORD! Anyway I have really been enjoying reacquainting myself with songs I used to play on the autoharp and making up new ones!

On the keychain vp front, I am waiting to receive a Super Tamagotchi and a Devilgotchi that should be coming soon! More on these when I start them up!

Lastly: this is Election Day here in the U.S.A., so if you are a registered voter, PLEASE:

Tuesday, November 24, 1998: I got a Yasashii (Easy) Tamagotchi today! It's also known as the Super Tamagotchi; and if you take a look at my page for it, you'll see why! It's BIG! It's definitely not a little keychain virtual pet. I threaded a shoelace through the top of mine to have something to hold onto, but it's not the sort of thing you can pop into your purse! It *is* easy to see what you are doing, however. It has a little fold-out stand on the back so that your Tam can more easily see what's going on and vice versa. I hatched Cozy Feathercushion (he corrected me on his name Wednesday morning) around 6pm this evening. He's going to grow up warped: some of the first images he saw were of the Rugrats videogame (blech!). LOL! Cozy evolved into his second-stage form just as he went to sleep for a little nap (at 7:20pm), which lasted on into his regular bedtime (which I am supposing is like other baby Tams' bedtimes: 8pm). Anyway, we shall see if this Tam *is* easy to take care of. The one thing I noticed right off was that the baby Tam was less demanding and cranky than those of the P1 and P2 variety. And of course one doesn't have to move the cursor around to the correct icons. There are "dedicated" keys for each function. For some reason I am having a lot of trouble winning the simple (guessing) game. Eep! Still it's fun to be raising a Tam again.

My Pocket Pikachu is going along from day to day, happy and healthy! He's been with me now since last June!

Wednesday, November 25, 1998: Cozy was awake at 7:20 AM, when I got up this morning! This is earlier than regular Tams get up. Hmm. His hungry hearts had all emptied, but he had not beeped (and when the sound is on maximum, it's LOUD and all the buttons flash!). So I filled them all up (and topped off his happy hearts), and he sang a little song. He seemed to want to keep on singing, so I hit the "heart" button, which seems to be a catch-all for praising, discipline, and healing. That seemed to make him happy and sunshine-y. Not long afterwards, I gave him a snack and he started lifting weights! I pushed the heart button again, and *that* made him happy. Soon he beeped, the food icon lighting up red. However, he refused food, so I again pushed the heart icon. It did the discipline thing, his discipline meter went up, and he then accepted food. His food, by the way, is a bowl of rice; and his snack is a dish of ice cream (or an ice cream sundae).

Friday, November 27, 1998: Cozy's hours seem to be 7am-7pm, i.e. "early to bed and early to rise makes a Tam healthy, wealthy, and wise"! Also I learned that even if you have all his hearts filled up when he goes to sleep, his hungry hearts totally empty out as soon as he wakes up in the morning! The discipline meter seems to be divided into eighths (well, 2 sixteenth marks for each elevation in the discipline). I *had* gotten Cozy up to 3/8ths. However, at 8:20am this morning, Cozy evolved again! I had the sound off; but the buttons started flashing like crazy, so I was able to see him change. He looks sort-of like one of the Osutchi-Mesutchi characters. His discipline meter went down to ZERO, though! Eep!
