Tuesday, January 4, 2005, 12:10am:  Hey there! A couple or so days late, but:

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a happy and safe New Year's! Geez, we celebrated quietly on New Year's Eve, but went shoppin' like crazy on New Year's Day and on the 2d! Read all about it in my LiveJournal!

At least we stayed home today (well, yesterday, but it's still the 3d to me). We watched the coolest, cutest movie called "Shimotsuma Monogatari" (international title: "Kamikaze Girls"), about a couple of unlikely gal pals and their adventures. (click pic at left to see it larger)

New things added: a couple additions to my Christmas page.

On a serious note: I hope you have seriously considered donating money (if not already having done so) to help the survivors of the Asian Tsunami tragedy.

Also, here is a listing on Google of information and places to donate. There are links lots of other places too: CNN and many more.

Wednesday, January 5, 2005, 10:17pm: Happy Twelfth Night!

I finally have pics up of the rest of the needlework projects I was doing in December (continues onto next page)! There are crocheted items, some things I did on my new Knifty Knitter looms; and a little knitted scarf in progress. I have a couple or so other works in progress: a lapghan for Bunnicula, a hat for Bunnicula, a knitted throw, and a poncho for me. Many more WIM (works in mind)!!

Thursday, January 6, 2005, 9:47pm: (cross-posted from my LiveJournal) Woohoo! Yarn stored! Actually out of bags and into storage! I now have three large rectangular clear plastic "tubs", three clear underbed chests (one in the closet, two under the bed), two bookcase shelves, and two smaller clear plastic craft tote boxes full of yarn! I have two large canvas tote bags: one for all my looms and current loom knitting project (a hat) and the other for (half of) my WIP (works in progress)--Bunnicula's hat and lapghan, my poncho. The other WIP are in the bookcase: star-shaped lapghan/something, knitted throw, knitted scarf.

Everything neatly stowed away...until my Herrschners order arrives! It shipped today. :-P Well, not a whole lot of extra yarn. And the skeins of Bernat Boa can go in the craft tote box that has other fun fur and stuff in it.

Oooo, and now I have all my hooks (except the humongously-long and large Tunisian hooks) and other odds and ends in the tray of one of the craft tote boxes. So much easier to get to now!

Sunday, January 9, 2005, 6:05am:  I've created a Memorials page--some of the things that used to be on the main index page are now there.

7:54am: Two additional photos of the "Star in Motion" christening/wiccaning blanket--in action!

Friday, January 14, 2005, 11:39am: Please be patient while I get the links fixed up to my new guestbook. You can still look at entries in the old one; soon the new one will be available on all the pages that the old one was on.

1:43pm: All guestbook links go to the new guestbook now. I am in the process of putting a link to view the old guestbook on all pages having guestbook links.

7:21pm: All the guestbook links are fixed up now. I am currently correcting the links from last year that led to pages that are no longer part of The Mouse House. Here is a charm and a charm box I made, though. Go see!

8:57pm: LiveJournal has crashed big-time. Here is what it says on their site right now: "Our data center (Internap) lost all its power, including redundant backup power, for some unknown reason. (unknown to me, at least) We're currently dealing with bringing our 100+ servers back online. Not fun. We're not happy about this. Sorry... :-/ More details later."

Saturday, January 15, 2005, 11:37am: Here is a new poem. :-)

11:33pm:  Waahh! LiveJournal is only minimally up.

We're supposed to get some snow starting late overnight and going into tomorrow afternoon. They are saying about 3 inches of it. As if we hadn't had enough with the Christmas snowstorm! LOL! I still have to put those pictures up. I guess I will be making a new page in the Snow Pictures section, since it was considered an "historic" storm.  :-P

Plus I have regular photos to put up in the Coolpix section, when I get a round tuit.

I need to get back to loooooming and crocheting. I want to make three more hats on the Knifty Knitter looms, then get those out to the charity they are going to. I am currently crocheting on a car robe/lapghan; a lapghan for Bunnicula; a poncho for me; and a star-shaped lapghan/something-or-other. I am still knitting that navy grape throw and the French vanilla scarf. Am I forgetting something? Maybe.  :-P  Need to get photos up of projects completed. I finished Bunnicula's crocheted watch cap. And I gave him one of the loom knitted hats I had done.

I should get some sleeeep. I miss my LiveJournal friends! I miss the Crochet Community over there too! Ack, withdrawal!

Monday, January 17, 2005, 3:44pm: Today is Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday (observed). Heaven's Angels sent out this nice plaque to all of us:

May we honour him and try to live up to his ideals of non-violence, tolerance, and civil rights for ALL.

I've added a link to one of my crochet pages: I made a little scarf for Monkey for Christmas, and now you can see him wearing it! Be sure to check out all of his wonderful site! There is so much to see and do there!

Wednesday, January 26, 2005, 8:04am: Mostly I have been playing Test Toontown obsessively (Cashbot HQ is open there! Eeeeee! Gotta level up NOW!), alone and with Bunnicula; and crocheting (photos coming soon, I promise!).

I also did a loom-knitted hat for Cat'r yesterday and started a matching/complementary hat for myself. I also started crocheting matching scarves for us both. In other words: his 'n' hers hats and scarves. :-P  They are all done in Lion Brand Homespun yarn. His is Edwardian (grey-black) and Corinthian (red/blues/golds/etc.); mine is Deco (off-white) and Corinthian. Won't we look adorable?! Heh.

I encountered my first bamboo knitting needles yesterday. All I can say is, "Ooooooooooo!" However, I have since read some Bad Things about Crystal Palace bamboo needles (the kind I got) , so I am probably going to get Clover bamboo needles (which I've seen *nothing* negative about in all my advice-asking) in future. I think I am going to get a set of Clover bamboo crochet hooks in a cloth pouch (click on the pic at right to see it larger) today. Smooth and speedy, that's what I want.  :-)

And yes, I still have a holiday splash page. Well, I still have Christmas decorations up here at home IRL! LOL! Well, I have until Candlemas/Imbolc/Groundhog Day to get them down before I incur bad luck.  :-P

Sunday, January 30, 2005, 8:15pm:  Well, this might take a little getting used to. I have a new flat-screen monitor, a Samsung LCD 15" monitor (click on the pic at right to see it larger). I'm used to my little 13" slightly-concave CRT that I had for years and years, so this looks concave at the moment. Cat'r tells me my eyes will adjust, that it's a trick of the eye that it looks this way to me now. Also I am now running at 1024 x 768 resolution (I *was* running at 800 x 600), and suddenly I am seeing that some things about my pages sure look narrow!  Anyway, I may have to make some minor adjustments to things as I go along. I hope I like this. Flat-screen monitors are supposed to be better for you, health-wise, anyway. :-)
