Nancy's Mysterious Letter

In this 1968 text version there's a nice old postman. His mail bag is stolen and this leads Nancy into a series of mysteries. For one thing, one of the letters that is missing contained money for her father. Another letter says a Nancy Drew is to inherit money, so Nancy has to try to find the money and figure out about the inheritance thing.

This leads to a search for another Nancy Drew. The big bad in this one is Edgar, the postman's half-brother, and he's really nasty. He's running a mail fraud scam, is ultra-nasty to his brother and even steal's from him, and he's after the other Nancy's inheritance.

Ned and a football game are also involved as Nancy and his relationship seem to be growing somewhat.

This text differs from the original 1932 text in a couple of ways. There are some rather negative stereotypical black characters in the original that are left out of this one. The way that Edgar is dealt with is quite a bit different than in the original text. The original text also seems to have a bit of filler in it that was cut out of the revised text.
