King's Restaurant

Opening and Characters

The Main Characters

Sengoku: formerly worked at the restaurant. Has decided to work there again, hoping to improve the restaurant back to its former days of quality. Very intelligent, and gets people to do things the way they should be done without forcing them or making them feel bad.

Rokuro: The younger brother (of the former owner's mistress), he takes over the restaurant. Initially he is disorganized and clumsy, but he is a good person and wants the best for the restaurant and the people that work there.

Shizuku: the female chef, possessed of considerable talent but at first lacking almost entirely in self-discipline and confidence. Very strong-willed, yet creative and willing to work very hard.

Masoko: The female bartender. Seems to be perhaps the least experienced of everyone there. She has had a relationship with the director (the older brother), and at first is strongly disliked by Shizuku. She also lacks self-confidence.

Noritomo: The elder brother. As the story says, not a good man, but not a bad man. Gets involved with the wrong people, has grandiose get-rich quick schemes, and sort of works both sides at the same time. Lusts after Masoko.

Kajihara: One of the people initially offering the strongest opposition to Sengoku. Is seen as a lewd man, unsure of what his place is now in this "new" restaurant arrangement.

Narushi: The pastry chef. Good at what he does. He is in love with Shizuku.

Kinishiro: The wine expert. Quite stuffy, not quite as group-centered as are most of the others.

Hidetada: the sous (sauce) chef. Has a massive appetite; humorous; a nice person who is doesn't do well working long hours.
